All you need to do is look at the 37th repertoire
for this year’s production to see the change in direction
and realise that something is going on from the normal. The
Corp will be experimenting with music that tells of a journey
focusing on the slippage from normality to the totally insane.
The opening statement starts at the beginning of a new day
in which the path will take you through the mood swings of
the production.
The opening scene “Happiness” is
attacked with dark voices and mysterious chords, in which
the selection is merged into a strange and unexpected way
to freak the sane amongst us. The show is a virtual whirlwind
of musical and visual offerings, which explode into a kaleidoscope
of colours and melodies which shift and bubble to the surface
during the Ballad.
In the final act of the show, the corps will
explode with voices that capture the imagination of the Drum
Corp fan with the aggression to meet the end of the journey.
The imagination is the eye of the soul, join us on our travels
of the “distorted mind” to free the pain threshold
and wander to places never visited before.
