As we move through March to April it is pleasing to see the progress from each section which is leaving a sense of excitement about this years programme. All sections are well balanced with more members joining in August which will add to the strength the programme. Now we are on the field running the early stages of the production it is already apparent that the visual package will meet the Corps expectation.
We are pleased to announce that we have a tremendous Guard staff this season who are actively engaged on the winter guard circuit and bring an amount of energy and excitement to the guard. The guard rehearsals have been productive and the feedback with the new staff is outstanding.
The Battery and Pit have entered this season with a strong passion for the activity and it is great to see them bonding as a unit so early. We would say to anyone who has not seen this line, keep an eye on this talented section.
The Brass have made some outstanding progress with the music book which is a challenging book for them, the bottom lines are showing great strength without the decency of the key players who have not been around due to other commitments.
In the back ground our efforts have been rewarded with a grant application which will help the Corps with new instrumentation in the future.
For the rest of this month and leading into next month we still have 2 guard spots, 1 soprano and 1 baritone spot to fill before the start of the season. If anyone outside the 37th has an interest to march with the Corps, please ensure that you are clear as per the movement of members rule for DCUK. Outside of DCUK please do not hesitate to contact the Corps through the contact page for more details.
